AmeriCorps works because as we walk into our uncertain, hazy future we will remember and bring with us the skills and experiences that we gained in our time with AmeriCorps. Yes, we learned how to hammer nails to build a house, but we also learned how to bring a family together under one roof. Yes, we learned how to supervise children after school, but we also learned how to strengthen the future. And yes, we learned how to trail blaze up a mountain, but we also learned to persevere and blaze our own path on life’s mountain.
