The AmeriCorps uniform is a symbol of unity, community, and hard work. The boots are an essential part of the uniform because they are protective yet also sturdy and withstanding. This photograph was taken after a long day of work outdoors weeding and planting in the santa monica mountains in California. It represents two of the core values of Americorps - getting things done and strengthening communities.
