I captured this photo while youth and a teenage intern were making "garden soup" in their wheelbarrow while others mixed compost, uprooted weeds, and planted new flowers at a housing development in New Haven, CT. This moment was part of a 3-week-long garden project that installed three 4'x8' raised vegetable and flower beds at two sites in the city, involving more than 25 youth, 3 teenage educators, 4 contributing organizations, and 5 adult volunteers.
