Coach Across America volunteer, Austin Herman, smiles with two members of the SOS Outreach Backyard Adventure program. On this day our participants got to try stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. Ivan and Jordan were two of the biggest trouble-makers over that past year upon entering our program. They were disruptive, inappropriate, and and generally misguided. Jordan and Ivan pose in this picture after the first week of our summer program, having been the leaders of the group, encouraging other participants, solving teams course problems, mountain biking, working harder than any other student in our program during service project day, and listening to all directions given. An adult in their community saw the impact that SOS Outreach and AmeriCorps was having on these students' lives and offered to sponsor them for additionally programming. AmeriCorps Works.
