17 year old AmeriCorps member, Britney Harp, serves as a peer mentor at The Boys and Girls Club of Sierra County. Positive Youth Development begins with great mentors who build meaningful relationships with youth. Positive Youth Development provides teens with the skills and resources they need to graduate from high school with a specific educational or career goal in mind. Service learning programs like, AmeriCorps, help youth understand the importance of civic engagement.
