Meals with a Meaning
At the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia on February 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther king delivered the speech referred to as "The Drum Major Instinct". In his speech, Dr. King said two very powerful statements: "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve" and "You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love". It is these two statements that brought Megan Bourque and Marsha Cuveilje together to participate in Meals-on-Wheels in several neighborhoods around Columbus, Ohio on MLK Day. They wanted to pay tribute to Dr. King by delivering meals to disabled patients. While they were setting up the meals, Megan and Marsha also took care of any miscellaneous tasks asked of them, including playing games or simply holding a conversation with the patients. It might have been cold outside, but there was plenty of warmth coming from these two ladies!

I was surprised at how excited many people were to see us. It wasn't about the food alone it was about the human interaction. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate such a great man!
