4 days after arriving, the entire Southern Region AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) went to work in their new community.

The runner in green was the last runner in Vicksburg's annual "Run Through History." She was struggling during this 5k and was going to just give up, when some NCCC team members started chanting her her name and running with her. She finished the race.
