The work of a "villager" to raise a child.
Brenda Sims worked hard at the Cleveland Food Bank during AmeriCorps Week 2012. She worked in the warehouse section of the food bank packing boxes with liquids of various brands up to 20lbs per box and stacking the boxes on a wooden pallet. When that project was complete, she was part of an assembly line that packed different can food items in a plastic bag to be distributed to schools. It was explained to her that children who are eligible to receive these food items were given a bag to take home for the weekend. She also assisted in making bagged lunches for future distribution. The Cleveland Foodbank relies heavily on volunteers to complete its projects and weekly distribution objectives. It was stated that they would require 27 full time employees to equal the amount of work needed. Overall, she found the experience to be very worthwhile!
