Feeding the Farmers!
To celebrate national Food Day on October 24, 2011, and support local farmers, my co-worker Claudia and I made local bean soup and baked fresh bread to serve to farmers at the market on a chilly fall day. They were all very surprised and thankful! It was wonderful to give back to the farmers who provide fresh, healthy produce to our rural Maine community. AmeriCorps Works to help me give thanks for all that I am truly thankful for - good food, the health and vitality of rural communities, and those individuals who work hard all year long to make it available for us!
